Community Beyond Baseball
There are many opportunities to make a difference in the world that often fall outside of traditional ministry. When my son was 5 years old, we became involved with an excellent foundation that is truly making a difference in the lives of children fighting childhood cancer. For the past five years our family, friends and teammates have come together to host an annual Alex's Lemonade Stand event to give the children in our community an opportunity to do something special and significant for other children fighting childhood cancer. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation raises money for childhood cancer research by holding lemonade stands in communities all across the United States. Holding an Alex’s Lemonade Stand is an excellent way to teach kids about integrity, serving, teamwork, and excellence. Most importantly, it empowers them with courage and confidence to make a difference in the world.

A Grand Stand against Childhood Cancer
Over the past four years, our Grand Stand Events have raised over
$5,800, a proud
accomplishment representing kids of all ages ranging from 3 years old up to 17 years old.
Children Helping Children
Aside from a few adults for safety and supervision, all of our events are primarily run by the children to satisfy the original goal of Alex Scott with "children helping children" fight childhood cancer.
